PEERS Social Skills training Program at west coast centre for learning

PEERS, The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills, is a 12-week evidence-based social skills training program, for middle and high school students. Developed by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson at UCLA, this program enjoys global recognition, implemented in over 35 countries.

Research has shown that teens with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as well as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and socio-emotional problems have made positive progress from the PEERS program.

How is PEERS for Teens Structured?

Each week, teens and their parents participate in 90-minute sessions, either at our Surrey, BC office or online via Zoom. Over the course of 12 weeks, the PEERS program provides a comprehensive learning experience. Teens practice social skills training through interactive activities, enhancing their social competence.

How Effective are our PEERS Programs?

"My teen gained real life experience by going through the actual act of making the appointment, finding something, anything, to speak about with the fellow teen. Rather than simply discussing what should or should not happen this provided real life examples which were extremely valuable."

PEERS for Teens FAQ

Health and Safety Measures (In Person)

The health and safety of our visitors, employees, clients and our fellow tenants, is our number one priority. As such, we ask that if you're not feeling well – even if you only have mild symptoms – please stay home.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

Your child is carefully placed in the most appropriate group as it is our intention for them to grow and flourish. Our clinicians take a lot of time, carefully constructing our groups and as such cancellations can be detrimental to the group dynamics and in some cases lead to cancellation of the class, which affects all families. We ask that you be fully informed and carefully consider what participation in the program might look like for your family before committing.

Cancellations will be accepted up to 30 days prior to the start of the program and a full refund will be issued. Cancellation requests with less than 30 calendar days notice will be subject to payment of the full program fees. In some cases, we will, at the discretion of the Centre, allow a participant to transfer to a future class; however no refund will be issued.
